I have loved getting into macro photography. Each photo takes hours to make. The strawberry test below is cut up into several sections (11 in total) with 50ish photos taken of each section with varying depths of field. The images are then stacked and each final image aligned with the others to create the entire final picture.
There are so many technical and artistic challenges when creating images of this detail, so I’ll post more when I get the chance and am happy with the final images. I plan to create dedicated project websites for each macro project moving forward and I’ll share the tests and some of my favourites here in the meantime.

This is a split teabag with the leaves inside poured onto a kitchen plate. This was the first macro stack I ever made. I find it fascinating to the see the level of detail here.
First full fruit macro. This was an art in lighting. All section stacked files came out around 1.5GB, the final image sitting around 121mb. The quality and sharpness on the strawberry is immaculate as you can zoom right in to see the tiny sacs of water that make up the flesh. Unfortunately, this was a lesson in lighting and composition, as the background and artistic work is subpar.
